TRIZ Methodology Forum TMF-2026
Information Letter 1
Introduction
In conjunction with the ITC conference 2026, MATRIZ Official is pleased to introduce the 3rd TRIZ Methodology Forum (TMF-2026), exclusively dedicated to advancing the TRIZ methodology.
This virtual (online) forum will span two consecutive days, September 3-4, 2026, featuring four hours of content daily. The Forum will host a series of presentations focusing on the development of TRIZ methodology. Let us remind you that each TMF event will revolve around some critical theme in TRIZ development.
Each presenter will have a one-hour slot, with 40 minutes designated for the presentation and 20 minutes for a professional discussion (Q&A) session.
Participation in TMF-2026 is free of charge.
Objective of TMF-2026
The primary aim of TMF-2026 is to drive further development of the TRIZ methodology by addressing its most critical gaps. By achieving this goal, we seek to enhance the practical application of TRIZ, refine TRIZ training programs, and foster greater acceptance of TRIZ within individual, corporate, and academic spheres.
Central Theme and Topics of TMF-2026
The central theme of this forum is "Secondary Problems Discovery".
Definition: A Secondary Problem is a problem that does not allow a solution for an initial problem to get to the market. Secondary problems are the major innovation killers. When a company tries to implement a new inventive solution (product, technology, or service), it inevitably faces secondary problems that slow down and, in many cases, simply prevent the implementation of the innovation. Modern TRIZ methodology is well equipped with multiple analytical and problem-solving tools. However, there is an obvious gap between a developed idea and a practically implementable solution.
Sub-topics of the main theme include:
- Types of risks of implementation (typical secondary problems)
- Failure Anticipation applicability to secondary problems discovery
- Tacit parameters of value as a source of potential secondary problems
- Negative Super-effects Discovery as a source of potential secondary problems
- FOS adaptation problems as a source of potential secondary problems
- Potential new TRIZ tools for secondary problems discovery
- Cost evaluation for idea implementation
Who Can Attend TMF-2026
TMF is a professional event with three categories of participants:
- TRIZ professionals who are prominent developers in the specified TMF topic area will receive personal invitations.
- Winners of a special contest. Applicants will submit their TRIZ development abstracts related to the TMF-2026 theme, and the TMF organizers will select winners to present their papers and participate in professional discussions at the forum.
- The forum warmly welcomes all interested attendees. If time permits, some listeners may also participate in the discussions.
Abstracts Contest
- Submission due date: May 31, 2026
- Word limit : No more than 300 characters
- Requirements for a potential presentation:
- Must align with the TMF-2026 topic
- Should include practical recommendations
- Must feature at least one case study
Selection of Contest Winners:
By June 30, 2026
